Preliminary assessment of the damage caused by the Tauktae cyclone on Gujarat

Tauktae Cyclone ravaged Indian western coast from 16th May to 18th May, 2021. Gujarat took the brunt of the cyclone induced flood causing heavy damage to life and property. Here, I show a preliminary assessment of the damage caused by the flood in Gujarat. From the map, it can noticed that Ahmedabad, Amreli and Bhavnagar districts of Gujrat were substantially effected by the flood. The damage to the agricultural land in these districts is extensive and could impact food supply to the local population.
