Flood Inundation Mapping.

Remote sensing data can be used for multiple reasons and one them is for measuring the flood inundated areas. Flood Inundation fairly common phenomenon across the globe with varied intensity and frequencies. In some parts of the word like The Great Indo Gangetic Plains, the flat terrain of the Great Indogangetic Plain combined with heavy rainfall, the damage caused frequent floods is extensive. Further, most of the parts in this region see the wrath of heavy flood almost every year and hence it is important to map the inundated area accurately to mitigate the damage to life and property. As a case study, here I show the inundated areas near Patna city, Bihar.
